CANON 700D 014

I’m back! Apologies for being slightly vacant on the old blog recently, but (hopefully) soon I will be able to share with you why! So thank you for the patience my little loves. I’ve been loving a lot of things this month, so I can’t wait to get stuck in and tell you what my favourites have been! It’s been a long month full of reading, days out, food and less stress.

Let’s get started as today’s post is a little lengthy, so you know what to do… go grab yourself a big cup of tea!

Neil Gaiman – Stardust £8.89 // Erin Morgenstern – Night Circus £5.59

I’ve really been getting back into my reading and oh how I have missed it! I’ve ordered at least a gazillion these past couple weeks so I’ll be getting a post up on that very soon. Two books I’ve been loving this month are these two. I am currently reading ‘Stardust’ by Neil Gaiman and what a treat it is! I love both these books for completely different reasons. Both are magical and a complete fantasy adventure! Here’s a quick synopsis so you can get a gist of what they’re both about;

Neil Gaiman – Stardust:

‘Life moves at a leisurely pace in the tiny town of Wall – named after the imposing stone barrier which separates the town from a grassy meadow. Here, young Tristran Thorn has lost his heart to the beautiful Victoria Forester and for the coveted prize of her hand, Tristran vows to retrieve a fallen star and deliver it to his beloved. It is an oath that sends him over the ancient wall and into a world that is dangerous and strange beyond imagining…’

I’m sure you’ve heard of the major movie the book was made into, but reading it is a real treat! I love Neil Gaiman’s’ stories and imagination.

Erin Morgenstern –  The Night Circus:

‘The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. The black sign, painted in white letters that hangs upon the gates, reads:

Opens at Nightfall
Closes at Dawn

As the sun disappears beyond the horizon, all over the tents small lights begin to flicker, as though the entirety of the circus is covered in particularly bright fireflies. When the tents are all aglow, sparkling against the night sky, the sign appears. Le Cirque des Rêves, the Circus of Dreams. Now the circus is open. Now you may enter.’

A true magical adventure, the circus that Erin creates makes me wish it was all real! The characters, places, the storyline. I wish it was never ending!

LUSH Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner £16.50 (225g)

I love this stuff for when I need me time and to unwind. I’ve tried using this as a body moisturiser but I feel like it’s slightly thick and too sticky for that. No hope lost, as it applies so smoothly during a shower. The best thing about this product however is the smell, it’s a potent, almost floral, but not too floral scent… you know? It contains my favourite ingredients; cocoa butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil & shea butter. It makes your skin ever so soft and gives you a lovely soothing scent all day.

Gerard Cosmetics Lip Cream ‘Wonderland’  £8.00

I’d never heard of the brand ‘Gerard Cosmetics’ until stumbling upon its Instagram page. Usually the case. I instantly knew what lipsticks I wanted, including this magical shade ‘Wonderland’. As a dusty lilac shade, Wonderland gives you an ethereal, fairytale type of look. Now, who can resist wanting to look like a little fairy? These lip products are cruelty-free and gluten-free too!

Makeup Geek Foundation Stippling Brush £14.50

I’m always on the hunt for tools to give a flawless base and this brush does just that. It gives an impeccable coverage for the skin, whether you use liquid, compact or mineral makeup. I much prefer flat top brushes to blend the foundation in, instead of feeling like I’m painting my foundation on.

Vanilla Body Spray £3.50

My favourite smell is vanilla so it only made sense to purchase this handy spray! It’s the perfect size to slip into your handbag too. Perfect for when you need to freshen up with a quick spritz! I find the smell of perfumes super harsh on my nose sometimes, so this a great alternative.

Ryvita Thins £1.89

OH my lord, if you haven’t tried these yet please, PLEASE do. As an avid cracker & cheese fan, it only seemed right to try these. Literally like crackers, but bigger and tastier. They come in a variety of flavours, my two favourites being these ‘Cheddar & Cracked Black Pepper’ and ‘Sweet Chilli’. Paired perfectly with your favourite cheese slathered on top, these deliciously moreish snacks will leave you wanting more. Believe me, I went through the whole lot in the space of just a day.

Burger & Lobster // Manchester

If you’re ever within walking distance of a Burger & Lobster, do yourself a favour and go in! It’s unique menu offers very few select dishes; full lobster, lobster soup, lobster patty, full burger or half burger & half lobster. So as you can probably tell, it’s definitely for those lobster lovers. As I’d never tried this delicatessen before, I wanted to give it a go. Me and Jack went for the ‘half & half’ option, which was more delicious than I expected! For £20 each, I’d say it’s not too harshly priced either.

Netflix Series // Once Upon A Time

Obsessed literally isn’t the word. It’s been around two weeks since I started this and I’m already 17 episodes deep into Season 3. I can see some kind of addiction developing here…

The main reason I love this show is for all the fantasy characters it borrows. It borrows elements from well known folklore, fairy tales, literature and of course, Disney. It’s exciting to see characters you know so well come to life on screen. To name a few; Belle, Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin, Wicked Witch of the West, Snow White, Pirate Hook, Jiminy Cricket, Elsa and Anna, Ariel, Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood and many more. Here’s a brief outline of the story…

‘The show takes place in the fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, whose residents are characters from various fairy tales transported to the “real world” town and robbed of their real memories by a powerful curse. The show typically features their primary storyline in Storybrooke, as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character’s life before the curse was enacted, in their real home, the Enchanted Forest.’

If you love fantasy, action and romance all bundled up together… you will love this!
