Well hello there guys, long time no see… the reason being is that I am currently settling myself into a new job, so apologies for not complying to my new blog post structure (Tuesday’s and Sunday’s), it’s been pretty hectic recently! But I’m so happy with how everything is going at the moment, so now I can focus my full attention to my blog. Anyway, I’ll write more about that at a later date! Today we’re talking all things LUSH. Seriously, these products are lush. Woah there, just call me witty Wendy.
So I was browsing in Lush the other day and I did indeed nearly buy half the shop. I found some new products that I’ve fallen in love with and just had to share them with you guys. I’ve also intertwined some of my Lush ‘classics’; basically products I’ve been using since, well, forever. Lush is one of my best loved skincare brands which I’d recommend to anyone and everyone looking for naturally sourced products and a cruelty free brand. The sales assistants in store are also super helpful and knowledgable when it comes to your own skin, so pop in store if you are struggling with knowing what might be best.
This post is simply based on the products I enjoy using and works best on my skin! If you don’t know already, my skin is combination-oily. I am often prone to the occasional outbreak of spots too (just like any normal and hormonal female is)…
Bath Bomb – Twilight. £3.75
One of my favourite bath bombs! I prefer my scents to be more earthy and less zesty / floral. Lavender is one of my favourite smells in the world so when I discovered this you can imagine my excitement. Yes, I do get excited about things like that. It’s perfect for before bed as it has a combination of ‘essential oils’. It’s soothing for the mind and just generally very calming, which I don’t know about you, but that is exactly what I want while I have a bath!
Bath Bomb – The Experimenter. £4.25
Another bath bomb with an earth scented aroma. I love the colours this gave as soon as I
chucked placed it into the bath, which I uploaded a little video of on my instagram page (which you should totally follow if you don’t already) that you can watch here. It makes amazing bath art and smells bloomin’ lovely. It contains vanilla too, which obviously smells incredible! It has tiny specks of glitter in too which gives a nice subtle glow when you come out Now who doesn’t love a glittery bath bomb?
Mask of Magnaminty £10.95 (315g)
As you can see, this product has been well used and definitely well loved. It’s been one of my favourite Lush products since I first bought it and has lasted me ages! I usually apply this twice a week in the evening so I can allow it to settle into my skin for a while. It smells of peppermint which normally I don’t like, however this stuff smells SO damn good. In regards to what this does for my skin, over the space 4 weeks of using this I instantly noticed my skin to appear more radiant and my spots would decrease in size very quickly. I would recommend trying this out if you have oily or spot prone skin. Lush also has some really fantastic products that fight to reduce the appearance of acne such as ‘Cosmetic Warrior’, ‘Tea Tree Water’ or ‘Herbalism Cleanser’.
Tea Tree Toner Water £8.50 (250mg)
I only purchased this toner water recently as my skin has broke out quite harshly around my T-Zone. I use this simply by spraying it directly onto my face (don’t make the mistake I made of spraying too much) and I love the feeling of this product as soon as it goes onto the skin, you can really feel it soak into your pores and bring them all to the surface. It feels and works exactly how it says on the bottle ‘antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobial’ which is what my oily skin needs. However, this doesn’t zap the spots away after a few sprays. I think this is one of those products that has to be used often and regularly to achieve good results.
Grease Lightning Spot Treatment £6.50 (45g)
This little bad boy has worked wonders for me. Especially on those pesky under the skin spots that you can feel coming on. It can be used on scarring from acne, bright red spots, zits and for when you can feel a spot coming under the skin. I apply this directly to any spots and let it work it’s magic overnight, by morning they are reduced in size and any redness has completely disappeared. It contains Tea Tree and Witch Hazel which are the two best ingredients to fight away eruptions. Definitely worth a try!
So there we have it. There are so many other products I need to try and test from Lush including their makeup and hair care range, but for now these are all my staples. I’m always on the lookout for new bath bombs and can’t wait for their halloween / Autumn range to come out!
